LADIES’ HOME JOURNAL BOOK OF INTERIOR DECORATION

Elizabeth T Halsey, Curtis Publishing, Doubleday & Co, 1954, 238pp.

A large format book, approximately ten and a half x fourteen inches, the book covers different styles of furniture, floor coverings, window treatments, accessories and other elements of decorating which can be found in pictures of room settings throughout its covers. Illustrated in the main in black and white, but with some colour plates, it offers an interesting insight into what was in fashion just over a half century ago and would useful to anyone studying interior design of any description but especially to those who specialize in retrospective design work.

There is no dust jacket, rather decorative cover boards. These are rubbed at the edges and lower tips but overall are good. The pages are clean and tightly bound. The Book image on the photo is clipped as the book is too big for the scanner!

It is a large and heavy tome so parcel or surface postage may well be the order of the day. A nice example of a book of design.
