Surface mail is slower but around half the cost. Royal Mail quoted delivery times for surface destinations in the USA, Canada and Australia are 6/10 weeks. Western Europe is up to 2 weeks, Eastern Europe, 4 weeks.

Airmail for the above takes approximately 1 week.
