INDIA, THE SPEECHES AND REMINISCES OF INDIRA GANDHI, PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA

 Hodder and Stoughton 1975.

This volume contains a selection of major speeches and broadcasts given by Shrimati Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India and daughter of India’s first prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

The speeches range over a number of topics, covering in particular the many achievements of India since independence in the permanent war waged against poverty, disease and lack of education.

In a few decades there has been a revolution in India in technology and industry and the government has tried to balance the benefits gained with consideration for tradition and environmental factors. There are 221 pages and nine chapters.

The front of the dust jacket has suffered a major double tear at some time and has the ubiquitous Cellotape repair. Other than for this the book is in good condition, clean and tightly bound
