ALL COLOUR WORLD OF CARS

 Phil Drackett, Octopus 1979.

A very nice, large format book in which the author charts the history and development of the car from it’s earliest appearance through to the present day.

He deals with the controversial subject of who invented the car and examines the claims of many of the early pioneers such as Marcus, Daimler and Benz. The motor industry, from Henry Ford onwards, is also described.

The story of motor sport and the ever-increasing World Land Speed Record is told, featuring such great names as Nuvolari, Fangio, and Stewart, and the Campbells, Arfons and Gabelich.

More than eighty superb colour photographs illustrate the story, showing some of the finest production and racing cars. A sumptuous book, which includes full colour pictures of record breakers, such as Bluebird.

Apart from slight light tanning to some page edges, and some very limited wear to the extremes of the dust jacket, both the book and the dust jacket are in good condition.
