Some anglers buy books on match fishing which have been written by top well-known match anglers in the hope of discovering their secrets, and by applying them find a shortcut to success. After reading them they feel let down and disappointed because the books do not contain the kind of revelations they were expecting. Often, quite wrongly, they accuse writers of holding back the real secrets, and of cashing in on their names.
