Although this book is in the General Science For Schools Series, it is probably suitable for all students of the subject. Force, Mass, Weight, pressure in liquids, latent heat, photometry, and many other subjects are covered. The book has many diagrams throughout to illustrate the principles involved.

There are two grammar school stamps inside the front cover, one on the cover board, one on the FEP, together with an ink reference number written in at the top of each of these pages. There is a a similar situation in the back of the book. Other than this there is a very occasional, very light and limited pencil annotation. The cloth covered boards are reasonably clean, the pages are very clean and the bindings are tight. There is a bonus in that there are examples at the end of each chapter where different questions are asked. The answers are at the back of the book!
