THE STORY BEHIND A DIAMOND

 Charles King, Cassel 1968.

A hardback book, 30 pages, illustrated with drawings, telling the story of diamonds in Africa. How they were first discovered, how they are processed and cut and so on. This is an ex school library book, but although it was originally meant for children, it tells the story in such a way that adults might also enjoy and makes for an entertaining read.

There is no dust jacket, a couple of ink class inscriptions at the top of the fep, together with a small oval school education committee stamp. There is a similar stamp on the next page, and one on the final page of the book, in the lower margin. The pages are very nice and clean and the book is still tightly bound.

Anyone who is interested in how diamonds are produced will find this an ideal beginning to finding out more.
