Grace Witham’s lovely adventure story for children, set in the English Civil War, with coloured illustrations by Oscar Wilson.

The boards are quite limp, rubbed and sunned, the hinges are through to the linen at the gutters. Despite the wear, the pages are clean and readable and aren’t light tanned. The book is quite scarce, one of a number of stories the author wrote for children. A nice book, with character.
