THE GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY IN THE 19TH CENTURY O.S.Nock Ian Allen 1962. Of all the old railway companies of Great Britain none had a more dramatic or colourful beginning than the Great Western. Volumes have already been written about Brunel alone; but in their own ways Russell and Saunders, not to mention Gooch, were railwaymen of the utmost magnitude. The dust jacket has rubs, chips and rolls and has born the brunt of the wear although the excellent cover illustration is largely intact. The boards have some sunning and the book is slightly cocked. Other than for a little slight foxing to the endpapers the pages are clean and tightly bound. The book is illustrated in black and white, with a colour frontispiece. A good reading copy of a sought after book. |
