The Doll Collectors of America Inc. 1983. The Doll Collectors of America, Incorporated, have the distinction of being one of the first group of collectors to form an association dedicated to the study and preservation of early dolls. Over the years, this organization has published many books and articles about collectable dolls by dedicated and knowledgeable researchers. This is a compilation of specially written, unpublished articles, many written by well-known authorities and collectors. The range of coverage in this book encompasses dolls made of wood, wax, porcelain, bisque, papier-mâché, composition and cloth. Dolls made in France, Germany, Italy, China, the United States and other parts of the world are also included here, with such well-known doll makers as Simon and Halbig, Armand Marseille, Jumeau, Bru, Lenci, Schoenhut and other notable producers predominating. Included too, are sections on early dolls’ houses and their miniature furnishings. Apart from slight edgewear to the dust jacket both the book and the dust jacket are in very good condition.
