Richard Came Weidenfeld And Nicolson Pleasures and Treasures Series 1970. .128pp. 92 b/w plates. 32 colour plates. An interesting well illustrated book on silver, particularly British and European. The book tells us that is surprising that so much silverware has survived considering that until the middle of the 19th century, silver was simply regarded as an asset to melt down and convert to coin whenever the need arose! Apart from an almost shadow-like vertical crease towards the outer edge of the first few pages, the book is in very good condition. It does not have a dust jacket but pictorial cover boards instead.
