Stewart Constable 1929 A book addressing why particular sections used in a design were adopted in preference to others to guide young engineers and architects who are entering the Design of Structures. This volume contains nine chapters which are as follows; 1. Plate Girders, 2. The Design of a 40-ft Span Gantry Girder, 3. Axially Loaded Columns and their Foundations, 4. Columns – continued, types: Lacing, etc, Non-Axially Loaded Columns and their Foundations. 5. The Design of a 55-ft Span Roof Truss, 6. Roof Trusses, Portal and Workshops, 7. The Design of a Lattice Girder Foot Bridge, 8. Equivalent Uniformly Distributed Live Load, 9. The Design of a 70-ft Span Through Railway Bridge. The cloth boards are a little faded and have miniscule bumps to the tips (very minor). Very slight light foxing to end papers. Fep has a neat inscription in top corner dated 1929. There are fold-out plans at the rear one of which has a tape repair on the back, approx 4cm. The pages are clean and tightly bound and contain hundreds of diagrams and formulae. 215pp medium 8to
