The object of the following pages is mainly to set forth the theory of the simple structures so far as it relates to strength, stiffness, and stability. The subject is largely based upon statics and the elastic properties of the material, and has much in common with that called Strength of Materials. The book is nineteen chapters and 594 pages and has questions with examples and an answers supplement at the rear. It contains 324 diagrams, 4 plates and numerous examples.

There is a slight curvature to the boards and 1cm splits at the top of the spine which has caused a minor crease to the title. Crown 8to. The pages are clean and tightly bound and also contains a series of fold out charts. A valuable reference book.
