H.R.Jarrett J.M. Dent 1961 A standard geography for its time, which is one of the things which makes such items attractive in my view. Somehow, the information contained seems to be presented in a form that anyone can read and understand, whilst still retaining the interest of the reader. In this case there are chapters about the people and industries of West Africa, agriculture climate and crops but also, an appendix dealing with the chief imports and exports of the countries of British West Africa. There is no dust jacket, the cover boards are sunned and worn at the extremes. The spine is faded and rubbed. There is a small, rectangular, owner’s book plate in the top left corner of the inside cover, printed with Gothic type. The (173) pages are clean and tightly bound. Crown 8to, so fairly pocket-sized.
