CHURCHILL THE MAN OF THE CENTURY, 1874 – 1965, A PICTORIAL BIOGRAPHY

Edited by Neil Ferrier, Purnell 1965.

It may well be that no such protean figure as Churchill has walked the earth since the time of the renaissance. Author, soldier, orator, wit, parliamentarian, international statesman, saviour of the Free World – there was no role whose scope he did not enlarge and whose status dignify. In this pictorial record of his life, that astounding career is traced chronologically in word and picture from his birth to his death. The public figure is seen here as so many remember him at the crucial moments of our age, but here too is the family man, the sportsman and painter.

Here too, in his later years, is the revered recipient of uncounted medals, privileges, freedoms – the man whom the whole world "delighted to honour".

A short appreciation of Sir Winston’s career, character and historical importance is also included and the book is illustrated with over eighty-five photographs. The photograph on the jacket is from a painting by Professor Arthur Pan.

Apart from a tiny (2mm) split at the top front of the dust jacket, and a small amount of light tinting, mainly to the title page, both the book and the dust jacket are in very good condition. The scanned image has reflected light along the top.
