PHOENIX, A SUMMARY OF THE INESCAPABLE CONDITIONS OF WORLD REORGANISATION

 H.G. Wells

 Secker & Warburg

 Crown 8to, 192 pages, 2nd Imp, July 1942 (1st also July 1942)

 H. G’s version of contemporary social events and their causes and cures

The paper dust jacket is in two parts, with a large part of the spine missing. The rest is rubbed and chipped, and a little grimy, but  J. Zowinsky’s sketch of a Phoenix on the front is intact. Apart from a couple of infinitesimally minor bumps, the book is very good. Other than for slight foxing to the closed page edges, the pages are clean and tight. A rare item.
