PRACTICAL COAL MINING FOR MINERS VOLUME 2

 E.Mason

 Virtue & Co

Crown 4to, brown cloth boards, 787 pages, 1951

A massive tome on the coal mining industry, with drawn illustrations of all the relevant machinery, cogs, gearing, loaders and shovellers, together with black and white photographs of some machinery, and even covering the layout of colliery workshops. A comprehensive volume on what was once a major industry in Great Britain.

There is no dust jacket. The gold blocking has disappeared from the spine lettering and has almost gone from the winding wheel logo on the front cover. Slight shelf wear to the extremes, mainly to the spine, and a very small, slight horizontal mark on the front board, almost imperceptible. The pages are exceptionally clean and the whole book is still tightly bound. It is a heavy item so either parcel post or surface mail might be a consideration
